Archaeology Day - the culmination of Earth Science Week!
Celebrate International Archaeology Day on October 20, 2018!
Since 1998, Earth Science Week has brought together people from around the globe in celebration of scientific research and its benefits for humanity. This year, the theme is “Earth as Inspiration,” focusing in part on artistic expression to promote science. So check out the Earth Science Week website to keep up-to-date on coming events. Earth Science Week is organized by the American Geosciences Institute.
On October 20, Earth Science Week culminates with a celebration of International Archaeology Day and all that archaeological research has contributed, and continues to contribute, to our knowledge of human history and our place in the world. Sponsored by the Archaeological Institute of America, International Archaeology Day is celebrated around the world with lectures, tours of archaeological sites, and other activities.
