Michelangelo comes to the Met

The largest Michelangelo exhibit in the Met’s history

Michelangelo is probably the most famous Italian artist of the Renaissance. Not only was he an extraordinary talented genius, he was also quite prolific as a sculptor, painter, architect, and poet. His statue of David in Florence and the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel at the Vatican are but two of his extraordinary works. But not everyone can travel to Italy to see these artistic wonders. So the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York will this fall present its largest exhibit of Michelangelo ever in the Met’s history. The exhibit opens November 13 and will run through February 2018.
