The NYC LGBT Historic Sites Project

Two years before Stonewall Inn was designated a National monument, the New York City LGBT Historic Sites Project began to document historic sites related to the history of the LGBT community in that city. Recognizing the difficulty in identifying and interpreting sites that were important to a largely hidden community, the project is “making the invisible history visible.”
