The contribution of federal lands to US infrastructure needs
As the US government enters into what are likely to be contentious budget negotiations, different priorities will be played against each other. While the National Park Service and the parks under its domain regularly rate amongst the highest for public satisfaction with the federal government, other federal lands do not. The current administration is looking to promote the idea of federal lands as critical to improving the nation’s infrastructure needs. While most people think of roads, bridges, the electrical grid, etc. as infrastructure, this post by the US Department of the Interior encourages people to look at other uses of federal lands as for infrastructure needs. However, the battle for alternate uses of federal lands is likely to heat up.
