In the face of rising sea levels, “church leaders have decided to cede some land”
Norfolk, Virginia is one of many coastal cities in the United States and around the world that are already dealing with significant impacts of the rise in sea levels due to climate change. The leaders of this century-old Gothic-styled church have decided essentially to go along to get along. Rather than continuing to battle and brace against the incoming water, they have decided to essentially give up use in the lower portions of the church, using it primarily for storage of items up off the floor.
