International experience vital in pursuing preservation studies

While there is an axiom that “all politics is local,” many people feel the same about historic preservation—most preservation-related activities are funded and conducted by local governments and organizations, despite the robust presence of state- and federal-level preservation programs, policies, and regulations. This landscape architect’s education and career illustrate the importance of expanding one’s experience into the international arena.
