While debate continues over energy policy in the United States, particularly with the recent announcement that the US will pull out of the Paris Agreement on climate change, perhaps it is worth revisiting this blog post on early approaches to air conditioning. The US remains one of the world’s top energy users per capita and air conditioning is one of the main culprits. In fact, the ubiquity of air conditioning in residential buildings is one of things that sets the US apart from the rest of the world in terms of energy use.
