A 17th-century document found under the floor of an historic house undergoing restoration provides a glimpse into daily life at Knole, a country house in Kent, England. The "shopping list" apparently was written by a well-educated servant by the name of Robert Draper as a request to one Mr. Bilby. Greenish is better known today as salted cod. Read
