"More odyssey than carefree joyride"—diversifying National Park visitorship

In the face of record visitation to US National Parks, this one gentleman is hoping to expand awareness of 'America's best idea.' Mikah Meyer Is on a personal journey to visit 417 national parks representing "the most beautiful and culturally relevant places in America." His trip is designed in part as a tribute to his late father. It also is designed to impress upon his own generation—the millenials—that national parks are not just for "old, married couples of the heterosexual persuasion."
