Most know of Machu Picchu for its spectacular ruins high in the Andes. But far below the city in the sky likes the town of Machu Picchu, also known as Agua Calientes, which is the closest access point to the World Heritage site. Recent flooding of the Vilcanota River, which flows through the town, has caused significant damage, and left tourists stranded on the mountain.
