US funding for archaeological discoveries at risk
With the prospect of potentially dramatic and drastic consequences of defunding scientific research in the United States, it is important to take stock of what scientific advances have been made specifically with US funding support. In archaeological research, this article summaries six great discoveries that were made possible with funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities, and by implication, the potential large gap in our scientific knowledge that may result from defunding the agency.
