2017 is the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development

The World Tourism Organization (WTO)of the United Nations has declared 2017 the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development. Following the great global recession of 2008 and 2009, international tourism in 2015 reached involved more than 1.2 billion travelers.
