"Why Pond Farm lives on"

Historic estates, prized examples of iconic architecture, sites were famous battles turned the course of history, and historic districts containing numerous examples of buildings and landscapes from a specific time period—all have been the subject of preservation efforts by both governmental agencies and non-governmental organizations. Today, a variety of efforts are underway to expand our notion of historic preservation to include less known, but no less culturally important, stories of our past.
