"The breakthrough was the quarterdeck"
Global trade policies have been subject to extensive debate of late, particularly with regard to the recent US presidential campaign. But global trade is nothing new, even if ancient civilizations did not realize the full extent of the globe during their time on earth. A spectacular discovery in the Black Sea sheds light on the extent of sea-faring trade over the past 1,000 years, with more than 40 submerged vessels having been identified.
