HMS Terror and Erebus—"The spiritual limbo between Earth and hell" revealed

Numerous articles attest to the unprecedented and increasing melting of the polar Arctic ice cap in recent decades. While the threat to our natural resources is quite profound, in at least one respect this phenomenon has revealed the answers to a 200-year-old cultural mystery—the fate of two British Naval ships that were searching for the elusive Northwest Passage. While the local Inuit inhabitants handed down stories of the ill-fated crew, the melting ice has revealed physical evidence of the shipwrecks.
