The Long Room in the Old Library


The library at Trinity College in Dublin is the largest in Ireland. The library was founded with the college in 1592. It's famous Long Room was added between 1712 and 1732 and subsequently enlarged. In recognition of the importance of libraries to civilization, the architects who designed many of the world's greatest libraries to be architectural monuments in and of themselves
