The US National Park Service "comes out" on National Coming Out Day

October 11, 2016 marked the 28th anniversary of National Coming Out Day, celebrating lesbian, gray, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) individuals who openly accept and express their sexual orientation and gender identify. The US National Park Service, which this year is celebrating its own centennial anniversary, release a landmark study on National Coming Out Day outlining the themes that will provide the framework for the on-going efforts to recognize the LGBT community in our inventory of historic places.
