The Jewish historian Josephus wrote the only known account of the Great Jewish Revolt of 66-70CE. But his writings have long been suspected of embellishing his own role in the revolt. Recently, researchers have found solid evidence of at part of his account: elaborate fortified cliffside caves in which the Jews hid from the approaching Romany army.
