Since jet travel became more affordable, and more common, in the 1960s, US tourism to other countries increased substantially. Over the last two decades, the growing middle classes in countries such as China have led to even greater increases in tourisms to the world’s most famous sites. But this opinion writer asks “how much is too much?”
