Zanzibar’s “Queen” is remembered in London

Freddie Mercury, the late lead singer of the popular rock group Queen, was born on the island of Zanzibar, and his birthplace is now part of local heritage tours there. Now, his childhood home in London, where his family moved to from Zanzibar, has been recognized with an historic plaque.
