The Galerie Vivienne, a long glass-covered passage with elaborate mosaic floors, reflects the neo-classical Pompeiian style its architect envisioned for this Paris landmark. Built in 1823 in the city’s second arrondissement, the building is set to undergo renovation. But some claim the planned renovation will destroy its most notable architectural features.
