New management structure for Italy’s museums

In 2015, the Italian Ministry of Culture instituted change to the management structure of its world-class museums, giving the museum directors greater autonomy. This change led to a search for museum directors from across the globe who already had experience running world-class museums and other heritage institutions. This author explores changes in Florence.
