“Snake Dynasty” in the Mayan jungle

Xunantunich, a 700 AD Mayan city in what is now Belize, is finally revealing its secrets to archaeologists. Recent excavations have revealed what is probably one of the largest royal tomb in that country. While limited evidence of the “Snake dynasty” have been found scattered around other sites in Belize, two stone panels found at Xunantunich provide a more complete picture.
