Perry World House—“definitely not preservation as we know it”

The Sloan House, built in 1851, was the oldest surviving structure on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania’s campus in Philadelphia. Now used to house a global policy research institute, the building was recently subject to---what exactly? Not a renovation, or a restoration, or really even adaptive reuse?
