Camp Century—a dangerous reminder of our nuclear heritage
The history of research to produce nuclear weapons in the United States is a vital part of our global heritage. The Manhattan Project National Historic Park seeks to preserve and interpret this history at sites in Los Alamos, New Mexico, Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and Hanford, Washington. But climate change leading to melting glaciers in Greenland may expose a dangerous aspect of our nuclear heritage.
