“Mysterious, undocumented stone pits in the Capitol stoneyard”
Rock Creek Park cuts a large, wooded swath through the Northwest quadrant of Washington, DC. The park contains hiking paths and horseback riding trails, picnic areas, and a number of historic sites, such as Peirce Mill. One curious site contains remnants stones pulled from the Capitol building during a late 1950s renovation.
