“Like a world unto itself”

Restored 17th-century frescoes are just one highlight of this palazzo turned luxury hotel near the Rialto Bridge on the Grand Canal of Venice. One of the domed ceilings above a staircase is decorated with Pietro Longhi’s “Fall of the Giants,” painted in 1734. Nicole Bambini’s “The Defeat of Vices” decorates the ceiling of another room.
