Mistaken Point

Long a rocky hazard for sailors, Mistaken Point is also the site of fossils of some of the oldest life forms on earth. The first fossil was discovered by a university student in 1967 and in 1987 Canada named Mistaken Point an ecological reserve. Recently, it was designated a World Heritage site.
