“The clock is ticking” on efforts to save Walt Disney’s first studio
The charming bungalow on Kingswell Avenue in Los Feliz, California, had been in the family of Walt Disney for 50 years when it was sold in 1977. Belonging to his aunt and uncle, Walt Disney with his brother opened their first cartoon studio in the home’s garage. Today, the new owners seek to demolish the structure to make room for a new, larger home. The city of Los Angeles is attempting to preserve this historic site.
