“Famed 18th-century hostelry”

The restoration and reconstruction of Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia beginning in the 1930s has been based on extensive historical research and archaeological excavations. Now, archaeologists are investigating once again Raleigh Tavern, to determine the location and character of its long-gone porch.
