Restoration and recovery combine to save an adobe church

Restoration of adobe buildings is a labor-intensive project. Making the adobe bricks themselves requires skill and patience, as the mud bricks cure in the sun. Adobe walls, once erected, require annual maintenance. This restoration project near Santa Fe utilized the labor of the New Mexico Men’s Recovery Project to help restore the San Antonio de Padua church near Santa Fe, New Mexico. “Saving the church gave them a sense of purpose.”
