Historic Caribbean naval base recommended for the World Heritage List

The earliest defenses at English Harbour, Antigua, date to the early 18th century, but the site was largely abandoned by 1889. In recent decades, the Society of the Friends of English Harbour have worked to preserve and restore the historic dockyard.
