World Heritage Convention gets its newest signatory
The Republic of South Sudan, one of the newest countries in the world, having gained its independence in 2011, recently ratified the World Heritage Convention concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage. This ratification increases the total number of signatories to 192, of which 46 are in the Africa region.
